2025 Blue Jays

Hopefully some of the steam they all seemed to blow off last night helps refocus them. The poor me attitudes are killing them. Whines of "if they want New York to win" is garbage. At least NY is hitting the ball. Suck it up, make contact, put the ball in play. Get back to having fun playing ball.

Note: that strike zone last night was once again horrendous. All over the map. It's like they have somewhere to be and want out of there as soon as possible. It forces the batters to adjust, and chase while they guess what's a strike.

Kirk being thrown out at 1st from the outfield by a full stride to end the game.......I know he does some thing good but watching him out of the box, I really don't think this team hustles enough. Vlad Je got thrown out earlier in the game when he blasted a ball up the middle and he definitely didn't fully run it out. For a team struggling to generate offense right now I find the effort level pretty poor. Vlad getting thrown out of the game drawing lines in front of the ump was embarassing. You make 500 million bucks and are in a pennant race....be a leader

This team is extremely frustrating

Mad Max got some favourable calls with that strike zone too, but yeah, it really screws the hitters. Against someone like Crochet, it's like a death sentence. Garrett doesn't need the help.

Even yesterday's game doesn't give you a really great feeling, at least from an offensive point of view. They had one "good" inning. And calling it good may be a stretch. The 3 players on base were there because of an error, a walk, and a hit batter. Varsho hit the grand slam on a pitch he strikes out on 99% of the time. Gimenez hit a double up the line and Springer cashed him with a clutch HR.

At the end of the day, they only had 7 hits. If they hope to win the TBay series and win the division, they'll need more from Guerrero, Varsho, Kirk(has seemed sluggish), and Barger.

I'm really not sure why they keep beating Hoffman into the ground. Velocity down, command all over the place. He pitched a shaky inning yesterday (20+ pitches in a non-save situation), then luckily saves it today (25 pitch inning). I don't see this working in the playoffs..

That was another terrifying 9th inning.

About as good of an outcome as you can expect at this point

Jays win 4-2. Not the best start from Bieber but he battled through 5 innings. Hoffman continues to be an adventure.

Yankees win 8-4. Just expect them to win out at this point.

Red Sox come from behind to beat Detroit 4-3. This clinched a playoff spot for the Red Sox. Detroit continues to free fall. Detroit is the only team that can still pass the Red Sox but they are locked into playing on the road. Regardless of where they finish

Seattle loses 3-2 to the Dodgers. Seattle has already clinched the AL West but are now locked in as the second best division winner as they can't catch the Jays or Yankees.

Cleveland loses to Texas 7-3. They continue to hold the AL Central via tiebreaker. They will either win the division or finish in WC3 as they can't pass Boston.

Houston loses 3-2 to the Angels. Their elimination number is down to 1 for Detroit and Cleveland.

They shouldn't have had him come in for the non-save situation up 6-1 against the BoSox. They must have another pitcher who can finish that up.

You know, it would be nice to see Vlad actually hit the ball out of the infield one of these games...Another thing that isn't boding well... he looks absolutely lost at the plate...

Im convinced his groin is shredded cheese at this point. His arms and legs aren't even remotely in synch

Yea, he's been atrocious since coming back from that groin injury so that could still be an issue. I haven't seen him look too out of place on the basepaths though; he's even beaten out a few infield grounders the last few games.
