2026-27 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion | Official: Sundin & Chayka to lead front office

Of greater note is that this signing puts the Leafs at 50/50 SPC slots, and I doubt the GM that has turned “flexibility and optionality” into the team motto is going to open the season with none of that left.
Worth noting that 50 includes Tinus Luc Koblar. As a 19-year old if he's loaned back to Sweden for the season he will not count against the limit while he's there. He would if he plays with the Marlies though, or if he joins them later in the season. At least that's how it worked when Nylander was his age and went through something similar.

Yeah, and I'm hoping he sticks in place of whatever options are rolling in on a PTO.

Lorentz, Joshua are options to spin off for picks. or the Leafs could do a silly Michael Grabner trade again.

When does camp officially start?
Traditionally the Wednesday before the first preseason game.

I’m expecting the Prospect tournament roster tomorrow afternoon, and then the training camp roster next Tuesday just before the medical day Wednesday 16th.

Can we finally win one so I never have to wear this shirt again?

Well this is taking its sweet time. I take it Patrick O’Sullivan is more last minute with his homework than Dr. Wickenheiser was.

What the ever loving bull is this crap?

So to watch the Leafs this year you need:

Cable/streaming with TSN and Sportsnet, Sportsnet+ and Amazon.

The NHL is legitimately the most incompetent organization on the planet.

13 Games on Mondays that are now not accessible via cable. 6 games on Amazon Wednesday's that are not accessible via cable. Essentially a quarter of the season not accessible.

Congratulations Rogers/MLSE you finally got me to cancel my cable.

This is the way of things in sports now.

Apparently in the UK they decided to break up the premier league and football packages so that one organisation wouldn’t have a monopoly and be able to charge what they wanted.

Competition was good and would keep the price down.

So if you’re a fan of, say, Liverpool in the UK. You need Sky Sports who show premier league games on a Sunday, Monday and occasional Friday.

You need TNT Sports for the champions league (or other European competition). You also need Amazon Prime who get the “first pick” of champions league game each week.

You need TNT sports, and BBC and ITV for the FA Cup.

But if Liverpool are paying at 3pm on a Saturday it’s blacked out and you can’t watch it.

So you need access to 5 different TV packages at a rough cost of TNT Sports £39 a month, Sky Sports £35 a month, Prime £10 a month and the BBC and ITv are “free” but you’ve an annual “tv licence” costing £180 a year.

If you want to watch other sports or even other football league that actually throws more providers in the mix (Spanish La Liga is on Premier Sports which is another £15 a month, for example)

So it’s not just NHL that are at this.

Is it any wonder IPTV streaming is so

Been an annual Sportsnet stream subscriber since the 21/22 season. Finally didn't renew even though I had a small window to get in before this year's price increase. Using alternative methods now.

I'm keeping my cable only because my rate is very good and it's not just for hockey, but definitely not forking over extra cash for SN+.

Every couple of years, I've tried. For me, the video quality sucks.
I got rid of cable - they didn't offer a package I wanted that FOX News didn't get a piece of. I couldn't give FOX News a penny.
We have 1 GBPS service. Works great for games on Amazon.
I've got a few PCs that are decent speeds with up-to-date software
It works fine with other broadcasts on TSN/Sportsnet - like football - tested at the very same time as the hockey game
I saw 5 minutes of hockey on TSN - wouldn't work - no help and no refund. When I searched, I wasn't alone - they do not give you a refund when their stuff doesn't work. They don't care.
F them

Ah, yes, because you are in Toronto, you need all of those. Here's the funny thing, because I am in Ottawa I just need Sportsnet+ and Amazon, because technically some of the games are blacked out for me. Although Sportsnet is trying to lift some blackout restrictions, so that might affect me.

Or we just go crash Herman's place on game night.
y'all gonna cram over my shoulder onto my mobile phone's alternative stream while I ignore my family 84+ times this season? and every time I switch to post here about a play, there's a good chance i have to reload and fight through those alternative stream ads that I'm glad didn't get cast to the living room tv
