Kraken vs. Leafs - Oct. 28th, 10:00pm - SN

I said well at least snatched a point but nope. If Stolarz wins Saturday you roll with him till they lose f Bob. But with this coach wouldn’t surprise me if Bob gets another start.

Unbelievable. That's 90% on Bob and 10% on Hiller for not starting Stolarz in the 3rd.
Yeah I don't know how you leave Bob in when he's shown he doesn't have it. They shouldn't be afraid to switch the goaltending. Half competent goaltending and you could get 2pts. Below average goaltending could get you 1pt. We have Bob and got none.

I gotta agree with you on Raddysh lc9. You're signed to bomb it and you miss the damn net. Ugly.
These guys that used to kill us..Nick Paul, hasn’t beat a goalie yet. Bob, worst goalie in the NHL by a wide margin right now, Raddysh (to a lesser degree) playing bad defense and can’t score. The leafs have played 15 games and lost 8 of them. It’s not good right now.

1967 and signing 38 year old goalies who give up 4 a game. But go on.
All you do is complain. Leafs scored a couple of beauties, even tied the game and crickets from you on any of the 4 goals.

As for Raddysh....before tonight's game...
In Tampa (2025–26): 2G, 6A, 8P, 29 SOG, 10 hits, 9 BLK, -4
In Toronto (2026–27): 0G, 6A, 6P, 32 SOG, 6 hits, 22 BLK, -2
Let's try to keep some perspective here. They don't use him for his 1 timer on the point very often and he's being asked to be their #1 shutdown guy with Tanev being out. He grabbed 2 apples tonight.

I think its fair to levy some criticism at Raddysh. The Leafs definitely aren't utilizing him to his full abilities on the PP (and in fairness it's firing at a high success rate so I'm not sure I really care) but 0 goals is still zero goals. There was a clip during the Calgary game of his shaking out his hand/wrist. I hope its that he's playing through something because of the other injuries on the roster because 20 goals wasn't likely repeatable but they definitely need 10+ from him in the long run. That being said he has 8 points in 15 games. I was hoping for 55-60 points out of him for at least the first 1-2 years of his deal. He's playing below that pace right now but hes' also shouldering a far bigger defensive burden.

I thought this was two games in a row that were pretty poor from Cowan. A lot of bad puck decisions. He's young. It's going to happen. He still had a primary assist and was trying. Its just a good reminder that he's not there yet as an every day star.

Nylander.....man, that was just a poor effort. He's not looking quite as explosive and some of those defensive efforts were just not good.

McKenna has 11 points in his last 12 games after going pointless in his first three professional games. He's probably like 3 years away from finding his NHL body (put on weight next year, find the right balance to maintain speed the year after, hit the sweet spot after his ELC is done) but holy hell is he going to put up points.

The 4th line looked like a 4th line last night. A lot of trying and not really a lot of production. It gets exposed sometimes that Hiller likes to play them a lot and when they are generating chances its great but they did a lot of nothing last night and he kept going to them.............which is a byproduct of the 3rd line just being a collection of guys. Being down Tavares and Marchenko really exposes the 3rd line as two guys who are AHLers centered by a decent defensive center.

I'm glad I didn't stay up for the third now. Those last second game winners are hard. Guess we have a goaltending problem. 🙁

I have mixed feelings on Raddysh
Obviously, we knew or should have known before his signing that last season was very likely an outlier. And we knew or should have known that he got overpaid to win the bidding for his services.

Tampa worked hard to incorporate his talents into their PP. Short preseason. Lots of new bodies with new coach. I don't think the Leafs have done that yet. That to me is on the coaching and his team more than Raddysh. Things happen for a reason. Because the PP has been producing pretty well, they have had to focus their limited practice on other defensive issues that are more pressing.

Raddysh had a tough time making the NHL primarily due to his skating. He's a better skater than I thought he was going to be. Not amazing or anything. Just not terrible as I feared.

Again, he's no Tanev defensively, but he is better defensively than I thought he was going to be.

In terms of the $8 mil/yr contract, they seemed doomed. They overpaid to get him in a barren UFA market. To me, that is not on Raddysh though it is inevitable that fans and media will get on his case.

Is it a deal I would have done? No way - I would have blown up the team. Chayka was just following orders.

Bob has 3 wins in 10 starts, Stolarz has 4 wins in 5 starts.

I think Hiller is obviously trying to get Bob dialled in, but that's 10 starts now.

At least they're scoring goals this season.

They are back stuck in the mud. Some good offensive weapons. Old D core, suspect goalies. No trade capital to speak of that is going to make any sort of difference.

After winning the lottery, may have been a better choice to take it down to the bare wood.

That last goal - I haven't looked at it - too painful - looked like a brutal bad goal.

They don't have a contender. Whole world knows that. 28th place team.
And they do not have the assets (prospects or picks) to become a contender.
It all seems shortsighted "let's make the playoffs and hope Matthews hangs around"
If Matthews wants to win a Cup during his prime, expecting to do so in Toronto seems like winning the lottery (not the draft lottery)

Is Leafs goaltending going to win a Cup? Doesn't look like it to me
Is Leafs aged defense going to win a Cup? Maybe if they can play periods on LTIR

Even the top 6: Cowan, as good as he has been, is not 'there' yet and McKenna is years away defensively. How much does Tavares have left?

Their long term plan is stupid. No Cup likely any time soon.
But they're my team. If the shortsightedness says "make the playoffs", I hope they do. I'm still going to wish the best for them. It is frustrating.

Your captain ties it late, comeback complete, and Bobby Boy blows it! Come on, man!

I would alternate goalies; one is old as fuck and the other cannot play a lot without getting hurt. Neither goalie should play a run of consecutive games.
