Game 35: TOR @ NYI

There is a game tonight, yes?  If someone has time to start a proper GDT, my thanks, and mods please delete this.  If not, feel free to use this thread.

You really shouldn't put a "I'm too lazy to make a GDT, gdt thread up so early give us other people an opportunity to make one."  At least put my fancy graphics up at the top of the post (shamless promotion)

Maybe it's just my silly love of sports and pseudoscience, but back in the heyday of the site when the Leafs actually won more games than they lost, the GDT was made by the same person if the Leafs won.  I think we should get back to that approach where the Leafs win and that person starts the thread.  If they don't start it by the afternoon of the game, have someone else make it.

Over the past few seasons only the Isles seemed more incompetant than the Leafs.  Both teams played last night, Reimer doing to the Sabres what Miller has done to the Leafs over the past several seasons.  Meanwhile, back in NY, the Isles continue to suck.  I do expect the Isles to give the Leafs a rough time since the Leafs have to travel while the Isles don't really have to go anywhere, but this is one game that the Leafs should win.

The game is on TSN eh, I want to say I might be able to watch it, but I am not sure. The legion opens at noon today and there is free pizza from 3 to 6pm lol

GO LEAFS GO ! Lets get the 2 pts!

2 days away from Christmas and everyone on a psycho schedule? Perfectly acceptable front page IMO.  :)

Thanks Sarge, you too L K.  We are all on the same wavelength.

I was predicting Leaf wins for a while and they lost every single one of those games.  I'll go back to predicting losses.

Definite let-down game.  4-2 Isles.  Moulson and Tavares on the PP then 2 random guys who wouldn't be in the NHL if they were on any other team score the next two (lets say Matt Martin and Andrew McDonald).  Maybe Rolston with an empty netter.

This one has let down written all over it. Two games in two nights and they had to travel.... and it is Christmas and all.

The Leafs record is 0-2-1 on the 2nd day of back to back games so far this year.

I would like them to win games like this and show some resolve and some grit to win games when they are a little fatigued and would rather be at home with their families.

I think the Leafs can win this game very easily, they are a beatable team. The Leafs need to continue to focus on their end and be patient and wait for their opportunities to counter attack. I thought they did this very well against Buffalo. Often the Leafs are offense heavy and end up giving up odd man rushes, but I thought the more patient game was effective for them last night, especially against a team they struggle with. Last night's game could have gone the other way, mostly because Miller plays us so well, but the Leafs were able to keep their patience and wait for their opportunities and ended up winning that game.

I see a hard fought win tonight. Reimer continues to regain his form from last year.

I'll have to rethink the whole thing if it's Gus in net. ;)
