Aportzline: Have confirmed @DarrenDreger report of #CBJ trade for G Sergei Bobrovsky. Three draft picks going to Flyers, including No. 45 this year.

DarrenDreger: Bobrovsky to CBJ for 45 and 117 this year and 4th rd. (PHX) next year.

I doubt there was ever much of a link there, since I don't think Luongo would waive his NTC to go to the Jackets, but, it does start to limit the options Vancouver has to deal with their goaltending. The addition of Bobrovsky would temper their interest in Schneider, should the Nyucks choose to go that route instead.

I doubt it too but it is something I heard a lot of when people would mention non-Leafs teams who might be interested in Luongo. If this trade hinges on Vancouver being able to propagate the belief that they have teams out there willing to make a hockey deal for Luongo then it got a little simpler.
 
Bobrovsky is worth 3 picks?  I know they're low picks and all but still that's potential for 3 players for 1.  I don't know, I guess he's still young and all.

4th round picks don't hold a lot of value. So, really, it's probably 1 player and 2 AHL/ECHL fillers for him.
 
Out of all the goalies Columbus could have targeted to take over as their # 1 next season, they chose Bobrovsky?  ???

He's got potential and it's not like Columbus has a shot at the playoffs or anything like that so they can afford to be patient... They didn't pay much for him either.

The 4ths are filler , but that 2nd has high value.  His numbers stunk last year , I?m surprised he has any trade value at all.
 
These goalies who are being acquired may be no better options than Reimer or Scrivens. At least Burke doesn't have to give up 2nd round picks for a "maybe" in goal.

Exactly. We are chock full of "maybe" goalies right now. Don't need to add a 3rd to have them all compete and muddy the water.  I would rather see the Leafs sign a Chris Mason than trade for a Bobrovsky level player.

That trade has 2013 1st overall pick written all over it.  Terrible move for Columbus.

Yep.  except Columbus could have accomplished that just fine without having to get Bob.
