I'd understand if they really low balled him but the the Ducks reportedly offered around 13M. That's more then fair for a 67 point guy. Just for comparison. Marner had 94pts in his 3rd year and signed his next deal at 13.3% of the cap. That same percentage would be around $13.9M today.I don't know how you keep Verbeek after that level of mismanagement.

As soon as your best players are making ~$18m, it puts a definite crunch on what's left over for the other 20 or so guys to share.
That's why I'm wondering how this goes over in the dressing room, and add to that if and when the Kreiders and Killorns have to be moved out.
