Half of them or so - Marner did not have an assist. He had 12 during the regular season.
*Edit: Didn't realise he wasn't playing with him then. Marner gave him a good pass on the first one but that was just power forward magic shaking off a check and going top shelf. Then his second was all Howden. It's not just Marner, at least not from what I saw tonight.
Bad challenge by Torts but crazy stutter step by Ghost and good shot by Jarvis.
Many on the panel said the challenge made no sense. Not only was the play whistled but Barbashev pushed Freddie's glove. The ref was also very emphatic about what he saw. I wouldn't rely on commentary in the moment to try and decipher what went on in Torts' head, but I thought it was a bad challenge right off the hop.I think there was confusion about what the refs called.
The broadcast said something about the goal being disallowed by the refs due to goaltender interference. "Goaltender interference" was on the broadcast video screen I saw.
But there wasn't goaltender interference so they appealed
In fact, the goal was disallowed because the ref lost sight of it.
As I understand it (& I could be wrong), misinformation led to Torts making the challenge
So they got screwed over with that confusion.
They have a real series now and Vegas lost dman McNabb
Its good that he learned from Marner. I'm just saying what I saw tonight was a big guy who buried two that a smaller or less tenacious forward wouldn't. That second move was all on his own.Half of them or so - Marner did not have an assist.
During the play by play tonight, they commented on how Howden had been helped by learning give and go with Marner.
During his Cup media scrum, Howden credited Marner with helping him and how blown away he was by seeing his skill up close
During the season, Marner was moved to center when Karlsson got hurt after 14 games.
It hurt Marner some offensively according to his GM because he was learning a new position in games. He was a ppg center
When Karlsson returned earlier in the playoffs, Marner moved to his right and Howden his left. That is when that line took off. Marner was in his offensive comfort zone on right wing. Karlsson is a very good 2nd line center. Howden got more ice time and blossomed
When Stone returned, they didn't disrupt that line. They put Stone with Hertl on the 3rd line
He deserves full credit for both those goals. Nice lob by Marner on the first but Howden did the brunt of the special work. Its good that he learned from Marner. I'm just saying what I saw tonight was a big guy who buried two that a smaller or less tenacious forward wouldn't. That second move was all on his own.
Howden was hurt this season - missed a bunch of games. He had 23 goals last season. He was a 1st round pick. Scored five when they won a Cup in 2023. Marner is the smallest player on the team at 6' 180 - it is a big team.He had 12 during the regular season.

Game 2 was arguably a snoozefest until Stankoven scored. Then it was non-stop action!Anyway, it's been a fantastic couple of games. It's easy to root for Staal. Stone just scores big goals; he's hard to watch but always comes through. Marner's cooking... FFS. Hertl has some important points. Gostisbere is better than I knew. Jarvis with the OT winner with his buddies in the building.
Watch if you're not, it's been great.
**%*%*€>>#}} Marner. I swear being a fan of the Leafs is exhausting
Little of both?So you blame Marner for "not showing up" or the shitty teams he was on?
He was part of those shitty teams. So you blame Marner for "not showing up" or the shitty teams he was on?
I do to a greater part. Elite in regular season and couldn’t bring it in playoffs..and yes neither could 34, 91 and to a lesser extent 88So you blame Marner for "not showing up" or the shitty teams he was on?
