2025-26 Marlies Thread

Why are these not on TV. 18000 TV stations. The Maple Leafs are supposedly the suffocating center of the hockey universe and the only way to watch is a very mediocre streaming service.

Marlies up 4-2 to take Game 1

Severely outshot and relying heavily on goaltending - looks like they are finally playing Berube style hockey. Only one little problem...

Seriously though, nice to see AA playing so well. Will be very interesting to see how the Leafs handle the goaltending situation next year.

Marlies win it in OT. A weird one. Floater from the point. Initially waived off as a high stick/glove but they called it a good goal. No replays shown on the flo hockey broadcast

Danford has adjusted well and moves really well back there. Marlies jumped on a good number of exit attempts that could made this a much more lopsided game.

Danford has impressed me. I'm maybe a bit wary of Junior players who have absolutely zero offensive production but he has looked more than comfortable. I'm not sure that I would be writing him on the blue line from Day 1 but I think he'll be in more than a handful of NHL games barring health and standout performances.

Bo Groulx has been pretty quiet this playoff run

I think he got all the D assignments coming up junior, so there wasn’t really any major opportunity to spend time on the playmaking. He has a great first pass and the instincts for OZ play under the right circumstances. His floor looks to be enough to be better than bottom pair NHLer, so it’s kind of up to the front office how much offense they want to eke out of their future Chris Tanev.

He’s kind of perfect for a bottom pair defenseman to enable a depth scoring line, say McKenna-Tavares-forechecker.

A couple of Danford plays in the highlights at 3:47 and 8:57

Not that we want him to be hurt but I'd rather it be this than load management
