Thought I'd rescucitate this topic, besides, we Canadians ARE weather-obsessed!  :)

Anyways, it's been a wonderful sunny summery week(s) in Toronto & environs.  Hot, yes, windy too, which gives us a slight reprieve from the heat.

Yeh, thats true... I hate the first 15 minutes after the flood in the summer. My crease looks like a blue Daiquiri

It's been an incredible summer weather-wise so far this summer. Love it! - Hope mama nature doesn't make us pay this winter!

A couple nice days in a row, warm temperatures, sunshine, a breeze.

This weekend is going to be stinking hot and humid. I could do without that. I would bet the beach at the Rockwood Conservation Area is going to be packed yet again, and traffic is going to be lined up out to Highway 7 again!

Not really weather related, but temperatures on the powerhouse floor are 30?C+ during the summer where I work, with some places reaching 45?C when its really hot outside, typically it is 10?C warmer on the floor, then what the temperature outside is, due to the amount of heat given off by the 12 Units at the station.

Wicked weather collapses Bluesfest stage in Ottawa....

OTTAWA - The freak windstorm that toppled the main stage at the Ottawa Bluesfest may be a sign of weather to come, warns a top climatologist.

But one of Canada's foremost weather experts has his own theory: climate change.
Environment Canada senior climatologist Dave Phillips said it's not the days that are getting hotter ? it's the nights.

According to Phillips, there are more and more nights when the mercury stays above 20 Celsius. That means there is less time for the air to cool down at night, causing a build-up of hot air. When a cold front comes in, like it did on Sunday night in the Ottawa region, it's the perfect storm fuel.

"You do get the element of severe weather under something like this, when it's so hot and humid,"
Phillips said.

He said Canadians can expect more of the extreme weather that howled through the concert grounds, sending thousands of people scurrying for cover as scaffolding buckled into a heap.

"This is really just a dress rehearsal of what we will see more likely in the future," Phillips said.

Concertgoer Pamela Cogan, a respiratory therapist, was at the foot of the stage and jumped the barricades after the collapse to see if anyone required assistance. She said it was a "miracle" that nobody died.

"It was like a scene out of 'Armageddon.' Right before the collapse, it was sunny and lovely, and then moments later, dark clouds appeared, and the atmosphere changed. A gust of wind blew confetti from the ground up, the drapes blew inwards, the stage collapsed, and someone yelled, 'Get off,'"
Cogan said.

Cheap Trick manager Dave Frey, who was on stage seconds before the collapse, told Rolling Stone magazine that the driver's leg was broken and the band lost all of its equipment.

"They" are saying that tomorrow could be the hottest day recorded in Toronto. High is supposed to hit 38 (48 with the humidity).

I am pumped! I may show up to work naked.

On another note.... if the earth spins any faster, Christmas "might" be on the 24th..... weather guys... sheesh...

Well it's about 15 and getting ready to rain in Vancouver and I'm taking a week off in 2 days..

Not too sure I want 38 though.

Came back from one of our public pools a short time ago... Was haveing a great time until they closed it for the day due to a "water foul." - Some kid did a Linda Blair.

That happened years ago at the Albion community centre..swimming along when out comes this little 3 year old kid and starts using the pool as his personal urinal.

Swore off going back swimming anywhere. >:(

Bah... Often a kid will take a crap, they fish it out and shock the pool with chemicals and the process takes about 45 min. before you're allowed back in. It really is fine to get back in and I have no problem with it. This (probably because it dispersed over a wide area) was a whole different ball game.

Speaking of weather - How hot is it in T.O.? The dome has never been closed due to heat. - Could happen tonight. Farrell want is closed as a matter of player safety.

edit: For tomorrow that is;
