I don't get this, isn't that a compliment? I mean he was specifically talking about the Jays offence with that comment, and saying how all they do is hit homers. Isn't that a good thing?

My beer league team hits home runs, and fields at about 25%. Also everyone runs slow, beer guts and all.

From what I understand of it (I haven't watched/listened, only read comments on it), it was meant to say that the Royals have a versatile offense whereas the Jays are one-dimensional only looking to crank HRs (like I guess beer leaguers do).  As in the Royals are better because their offense is about more than just trying to hit HRs.

I took it as a compliment. It's like calling the Jays a video game team.

However, we're one of the better (if not best) teams on the basepaths and manufacturing runs, so it's not just the longball. And the pitching has been anything but beer league softball lately (except for Hutch).

The Royals generate offense by goading the other team into hitting them with pitches, amirite?

a bit of an idiotic statement.  All teams look to score runs and as many as possible, if you happen to have two or three Babe Ruth types on your team then of course the home run production is going up.  Example; as when we hit the grand slam on Saturday. 4 men scored, only one hit a home run.  I think the Jays hit everywhere just fine, thanks very much.

It's a pretty short audio clip, give it a listen when you can. It sounds more like he's saying the Royals offence can hang with Toronto's, just in different ways. But like the point I got across was that they were basically using Toronto's offence as the golden standard pretty much.

Yeah seemed like people were getting upset at the way they were being praised or something.

It's kind a weird compliment I guess.  I mean given the bad blood of a week ago it comes across as a bit of an odd comment so I'm not surprised it is being taken in the more negative light.  I do somewhat understand the way it can be a compliment but it does come across a little backhanded.

Hutch is getting his great slider into the mix, instead of his stupid hanging fastball.

Edit: Great pitch count going into the 7th (70s)

If only Hutchison could do this consistently. He's shown flashes of it throughout his career, but just hasn't been able to keep it going.

Osuna locks it down with a dirty changeup K.

Hutch was able to keep pitches down today. Nothing particularly threatening off A's bats today.

He does it pretty consistently at the SkyDome.  :-\

He had a 2.69 ERA at the Dome before todays match.

Yankees tied at 4 in the 14th with Cleveland. They went up by 2 in the top of the 10th, but Cleveland tied it in the bottom of the inning.
