NSH
?Juuse Saros (15-10-5, 2.67 GAA, .921 Sv%) will likely start for the Predators
?Nashville didn't have the best start to their season but have won 4 straight games and are 7-1-2 in their last 10. They currently sit 10th in the West but have a better point percentage than the 3 teams in front of them
?Saros has been a big part of Nashville's turnaround: he has a .943 Sv% over his last 11 games

TOR
?Ilya Samsonov (12-3-1, 2.29 GAA, .916 Sv%) will likely start for the Maple Leafs
?Matthews missed practice on Tuesday, which Keefe described as a maintenance day. We'll know more about his status this morning. Nylander lined up at centre in his absence
?26-year old rookie Bobby McMann, who has 15 points in 17 games with the Marlies this season, looks like he could be making his NHL debut tonight

BOBBY MCMANN SZN

but more importantly
NYLANDER 1C SZN

Explains why he's playing at only a paltry 40-goal pace. Leafs more or less already have their playoff seeding locked in, so nobody should be trying to be a hero and playing through pain right now.

Given their records, I am petitioning the coaching staff to prioritize starting Murray on road games and Samsonov for home games.

Murray: Home [3-1-1] Away [7-3-1]
Samsonov: Home [10-0-1] Away [2-3-0]

edit: missed an SO loss on Samsonov

Yup. Rest up. Maybe even skip tomorrow's game. Be ready for Saturday against Boston.

OK, so he really hasn't been 100% ... I remember taking some shots a couple of months ago for suggesting just that.

Anyway, it makes sense.

I think Samsonov is 10-0-1 after the shootout loss to the Blues. One thing that's impressive really is that in 16 home games they've lost only once in regulation.

Obviously playoffs are a completely different animal and home ice didn't help against Tampa/Montreal but I feel like this team, with the specific style they are playing this year, getting home ice in the first round is going to be important.

It's bad enough that the 2nd ranked team in the NHL would be playing on the road in round 2 right now (if we could advance)

You are correct

Looking ahead at the schedule.  We play Detroit tomorrow and then Boston Saturday.  So we get to play Boston on the back end of three games in 4 nights while Boston is coming off a stretch of playing Sunday, Thursday and then playing the Leafs at home Saturday.

No way that would have have counted if it went in.  The Nashville player shoved Murray out of the crease but still an unreal save

No idea what Marner was doing there.  Wasted 30 seconds of the PP with that neutral zone turnover
