Not confirmed by teams yet at the time of this posting. Ingram for a 2021 7th rd pick.

Was kind of hoping the Leafs would bite on this.

If all they got was a 7th then you figure there might be an opportunity but it's also understandable that Tampa wouldn't want to move him within the division.

I was kind of hoping they?d roll out two super vets to anchor their young star defense men.

A Sparks for Ingram trade would have made some sense since Tampa doesn't have any AHL goalies now. Assuming they were comfortable with Sparks passing through waivers and the Leafs were comfortable thinking they could find another back-up. Ah well.

Pretty sure he'd pass through waivers with the season he just had. Did seem like a good fit for both teams with both wanting to dump a problem goalie.

Pickard played very well for the Marlies. Sparks was horrible for the Leafs. The risk for TBay was minimal seeing they got a 7th round pick for him.

They both played Marlies together. One was the starter and MVP.  It wasn't Pickard.

We're not talking back then, we're talking now. Sparks value couldn't be lower and if the suggested trade went down, the risk of him getting plucked off waivers isn't that high, especially considering the alternative was a 7th round pick.

It was one year ago when Pickard,  coming off being an AHL backup, got picked up by two teams in a season. I have little trouble believing someone would take Sparks in similar situation.

The paper trail on this contract is something to behold.

So it probably doesn't work for a number of reasons but...kind of interesting as a Hainsey replacement?

Too slow a skater. Regardless of the other baggage, that?s enough reason to look elsewhere.
