Toronto News: Joffrey Lupul joined practice for about half an hour this morning, the first time since he's done so since fracturing his right forearm on January 23rd. Lupul has missed the last 23 games. He has not been cleared for contact as of yet and will not travel with the team to Winnipeg. No definitive timeline on his return. - TSN

James van Riemsdyk took a tumble toward the end of Monday's workout and left the ice favouring his right leg. Randy Carlyle had no update on his status. - TSN

Winnipeg News: No new at this time

All info/lines comes from TSN Ice Chips and this opening post will be updated if the lines change leading upto game time.

If Toronto wins both games in regulation vs the Jets this week, that effectively (but not mathematically) prevents them from catching up to the Leafs in the standings.  So, these games are HUGE!

GO LEAFS GO!!!

i don't know about this year..but winnipeg seems to have home ice advantage down pat last season...probably shouldn't look past them...i'd really rather the leafs didn't go on their first three game losing streak

Mark Masters says it appears Burmistrov will be scratched tonight.

Also..

Jonas Siegel ‏@jonasTSN1050

Interesting potential change tonight: Frattin with Grabovski and Kulemin. Komarov back with Kadri and MacArthur.

:-( no Burmistrov? one of three former/current Barrie Colts on the Jets. I gots only Bryan Little to cheer for tonight?

Well, there are 20 Leaf players you can cheer for.

How bad does Holzer have to play in order for Liles to get back in? I'm afraid having those two guys (and Komisarek) sitting for so long is going to create problems. Not only in the room but wearing other guys out with the compressed schedule. Use the depth. They weren't that bad when they were in. Guys might get complacent also knowing they won't be scratched.

I was coming to post something similar.  This is a team we absolutely cannot give points to.

Agreed. Liles wasn't playing that badly. I know Carlyle wanted to see if the AHL guys could play at the NHL level but you would have to think that he has a pretty fair idea of what each guy brings to the party by now.

My 'good' beer mug is dirty...I guess I'll have to drink my premium lager out of the can.
