    2025 Blue Jays

On the topic of the bullpen, at least it looks like the Jays made the right call letting Jordan Romano go. He's been atrocious for the Phillies.

    2025 Blue Jays

His command has gotten a little better in his last couple rehab outings, but I don't see him making the Jays this season. He could be a factor next season, though.

    2025 Blue Jays

Manoah's had some control issues in his rehab starts, though they are improving. I wouldn't count on him being much more than an inning eater if he makes it back to the show this season. I'd say Varland, but he's had some issues of his own since the trade. I think going to a closer by committee...

And that trade is also not happening without Vancouver getting more, whether it's from the Leafs or the Devils (in that case, it should be mostly on the Devils, since they're getting the best player).

Still a couple years away from that - and, if that's the case, I have to imagine Hughes would want to reunite with his brothers in New Jersey than come to the Leafs. Either way, if they put him on the block now, they'd be able to do better than a straight swap for Rielly. At the very least...

Nah. They've been out on him a little while now. https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2025/08/canucks-no-longer-pursuing-jack-roslovic.html

2025-26 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

I like it in theory, though I think it might work better with it being teams can't cross back over center ice rather than the neutral zone as a whole. Quite frankly, I'm all for the red line being the only line that's in play for 3-on-3. Get rid of offsides in 3-on-3 OT entirely - jsut have the...

Less play making ability and not as smooth a skater. He’s more like a better Jeremy Williams.

2025-26 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

In terms of xG, the Leafs basically broke even in Robertson's minutes last season - which is fine for a 3rd liner (not great, but fine) - but, does not scream play him higher in the lineup, give him more responsibilities (PK, PP1, etc.), or even guarantee him a spot in the lineup if he's healthy.

    2025 Blue Jays

A rough stretch, for sure. Thankfully, the Jays actually have the best record in MLB against teams who are above .500.

Hopefully, a trip to Colorado can help with that. It certainly should.

    2025 Blue Jays

Yeah. There's real upside for both teams here. Stephen is doing great in the lower levels of the minors, but, lots of pitchers have done that in the past only to end up being bullpen guys instead of quality starters. I suspect that's the likely trajectory for him. Bieber has a player option for...

    2025 Blue Jays

I'm not sure I'd put Stephen at the same level of prospect as Cowan, but, it's hard to make comparisons across the two sports. There's a really wide range in what he could turn into. It's a good to very good prospect for a guy who has won a Cy Young and is coming back from TJ surgery - so...

    2025 Blue Jays

Jays are apparently close to adding Shane Bieber, who is finishing up a rehab assignment where he's looked good. If he's even 80%, that's a great add to the rotation.

Dakota Joshua being traded to Toronto

If Cowan is the antithesis of what Treliving is looking for, why did he draft him - especially going off board specifically to nab him? That’s just absolute nonsense.

Dakota Joshua being traded to Toronto

Joshua, at the very least, will be a very effective forechecker who can chip in a little offence. He might not justify his cap hit, but he'll be an effective player and the Leafs still have space to make moves - especially if/when Kampf and/or Jarnkrok get moved. Maccelli is a bit more of a...
