Playoffs are a lot more fun to watch when you have a good goalie ...

    R1, G2: sens @ Maple Leafs - Apr. 22nd, 7:30pm - SN, TSN 1050

It's a marathon to 16 wins. The fewer games they have to play along the way, the less wear and tear with fewer injuries. That why I'm hoping the other non-Leafs series are hotly contested, long contests.

Or offered him a consulting position. I think something like that, which you or I suggest, would be a very good bet.

Coaching and management changes around the league

Lou is 82. He's had a great run. I'm sure he could be an advisor for a team like Cliff Fletcher did with the Leafs. It's a little unfortunate that they had to announce "contract ... will not be renewed" - seems odd to effectively fire the guy.

R1: Washington Capitals (M1) vs. Montreal Canadiens (WC2)

Caps better hope you're right because that kind of play lets the Habs into the series. It had to be expected - it is the nature of the Habs team. You'd think they would have made some in game adjustments to clamp it down. But they didn't do it successfully. For Leafs fans sake, I hope they play...

R1: Los Angeles Kings (P2) vs. Edmonton Oilers (P3)

No, I'd seen enough. Looks like a great comeback attempt. But when they open up to scratch their way back, more goals coming the other way are not unexpected. The good news for Leafs fans is they both knocked themselves out with effort in game 1. Hope it is a long, long series with lots of OT...

R1: Washington Capitals (M1) vs. Montreal Canadiens (WC2)

OT Logan Thompson over reacted on the second goal - was way out to the right of the net Habs with assist from Refs to get a PP won the 3rd period. Big opportunity to make a series of it.

Story of the game so far to me. I don't get the strategy

Habs tie it up. They earned that one.

R1: Washington Capitals (M1) vs. Montreal Canadiens (WC2)

Habs get gifted a PP - I guess to try to make a game of it. I'm a little surprised by the Caps allowing a back and forth skating game ... but they're winning so ... oops - Habs score .. !!

R1: Washington Capitals (M1) vs. Montreal Canadiens (WC2)

The game looks quick. There is some physicality but sometimes, they're flying. Logan Thompson looks pretty sharp from what I've seen of him so far. Haven't seen any sign of rust. Beauvillier's goal puzzled me - seemed like a high stick knocked the puck down just before he knocked it in I must...

I've been through that stat cherry picking argument before. You don't get games 5-7 if you don't score in games 1-4. I can't think of any NHL coaches that would say otherwise. Think Travis Green is telling the Senators "It's ok boys. Games 1-4 don't matter. Just gear up for games 5-7!!" ? There...
