Like I said - he competes. More than I can say for a lot of others on this team.

He loses a lot of those battles because of his size but a least he gets in there and competes for pucks.

May as well get it over with and move on to summer early.

Not able to or don't want to. I remember seeing an interview with a former player who said it could take a whole season or more to really get the Berube system/style rolling. Maybe he was right.

Good to see but what are the odds the new lines last into the third period? I guess it depends...come out on fire and dominate the game and they last, come out and struggle and they get switched back before the end of the second. Really have no idea what to expect tonight.

It's really strange because as they noted, every so often something happens - usually he gets hit and gets mad - and he briefly looks like the old Matthews for a few shifts or a period. But otherwise, he mostly seems rather unengaged and is barely visible a lot of the time. Tough to tell how...

All true but the Panthers made deadline deals and are working new players into the lineup, plus are down a top forward and defender (plus no Marchand).

It's going to be tough to win the division either way - one path with an ailing/less effective Matthews, the other without him in the lineup for some number of games. But maybe if he sits for a while the rest of the team rises to the occasion as they have so often done. Why is he still doing...

Part of the problem might be that they put Matthews et al out there with like three and a half minutes left, then pull the goalie at 2 minutes and leave the same players on the ice...so those already over-worked players (who have already played 20 minutes or more) wind up being on the ice for...

The other real question is what body part(s) is he having surgery on after the season.
