Not actually thinking this would happen but in a world where the Leafs wanted to bring back the left winger Matthews arguably ever had the most chemistry with... Bunting-Matthews-Marchenko McKenna-Tavares-Nylander Cowan-Paul-Roslovic Duhaime-Sissons-Blueger

Small funny story, I had the GDT post ready to go this morning but held off on posting in case there was a minor roster change. Was half right I guess.

I wondered if we might swap Lorentz for another waived player, but figured it might be Tanev or Raddysh for the obvious reasons. I used to like Miles Wood back when he was a Devil, we'll see if there's anything left there now. Giving up Andrea and a 2nd feels pretty meh here. Again I felt like...

They should be the ones getting some kind of sweetener for taking Elvis.

It will get REALLY awkward for Knies if this trade doesn't get fully past the finish line too.

Knies, Woll, Benoit, and McMann were a friendship group within the team that I guess ended up being known for often going out for dinners together while on the road.

Yeah that's basically my only trepidation here. Maybe it's because his name has been in trade rumours for so long now but I've basically accepted that Knies would likely be used as a trade piece eventually. Just figured it'd be for a centre or defenceman.

I know he just had surgery. If the expectation is he won't play this season then no harm in adding to our LTIR fund. Otherewise, weird.

It's basically Knies or Cowan+Danford+COL 1st and Columbus takes Joshua for cap reasons. One makes sense for them, the other not so much. So yeah I'd be expecting Knies here. We'll see maybe I guess.

If it's for Knies, I'm not a huge fan. But that's only because of Knies' contract, I think Marchenko is the better player. If it's for a bunch of stuff that isn't Knies, I'm all for it.

Even with the forum changes there shouldn't be any differences to how you posted them last season. I'm able to just copy and paste the exact table from your season ending post and it comes up fine. Shoot me a message if you're still having troubles, maybe with a screenshot of what your original...

Maybe letting Steeves go wasn't that big of a deal.

I think the Habs are set-up tremendously well for the future thanks to all of their stars grossly undervaluing themselves (confidence issue, possible red flags there) but yeah until they use that cap space to their advantage better I don't see them as that big of a threat. Can only go so far...

I get waiving Lorentz, not totally 100% on board doing it to get MacEwen playing time. I still hope Joshua will be given an opportunity to earn that 4th line role beside Blueger and Duhaime. One of Joshua, MacEwan, and Groulx will still likely need to be cut soon (barring Paul needing an IR...

Unless there's been a change with how this gets handled since the teenage Willy years, Koblar returning to Sweden would put us down to 49 contracts now. We'll see if anyone like Lorentz gets claimed tomorrow too.

I think the vast majority of those would be best categorized as "defensive checks" versus say a more physical hit. And to his credit he is a good defensive 4th liner. Leafs are heading to Arizona today for their camp getaway. I doubt they'll be taking 40+ players there so Lorentz is presumably...

A little surprising considering him, Blueger, and Duhaime seemed like a set trio, and it looked like Joshua was the one the team was looking to maybe ditch. But I've said this about Lorentz a lot, being likeable and nice is great off the ice but not on the ice. A guy with his size and speed...
